New Program - Invasive Species Trade In

This fall the Hamilton County Invasives Partnership and Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District are offering a invasive species trade in program.  For a limited time and as supplies last, property owners can show proof of removal of an invasive species on their Hamilton County property and receive one 5 gallon native species specimen for FREE! Supplies are very limited so apply asap.  

 

Strike Team Event a Success

The HIP strike team held a work day at Fall Creek Township Natural Area in Fishers on 10/2. The HIP Strike Team is a group led by experienced volunteers and/or SWCD staff volunteers who provide technical support and labor to remove invasive species at partner sites. 

Strike Team Safety and Eradication Techniques Workshop

The combined HIP and Master Gardener strike teams offered a hands on training to Master Gardeners on 9/27. Herbicide use and safety as well as physical management strategies and tools were covered. Attendees were engaged in lively conservations and demos.  More of these sessions will be offered in the future.

Next HIP Meeting - November 3rd at 12pm
HIP general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month, alternating between noon and six pm.  Register for the online meeting link here

Education Committee
The ed com. is working on identifying the best ways to connect with target audiences, the new HIP website and educational resources, Boot Brush station development and more. Your time and talents would be welcome additions!

of the month at 2:30.

Technical Committee Meeting 
The tech comm is planning Strike Team events, figuring out GIS mapping/reporting options, training to offer invasive species site assessments, and more.
